Conceived from a series of challenging conditions, both of these homes are cut into a steep hillside and compete for views of the Brisbane CBD and skyline. Living spaces on the second floor are turned inward towards a double storey courtyard and pool, to maintain privacy and capture summer breezes and winter sun. Roof decks on both houses are hidden from the street, capture city views, and are private from each other an surrounding houses.

Facades of each of the houses are defined by glass filled negative space, leaving simple floating geometric shapes. Openings are large enough to take advantage of light and breeze from the northern aspect, but small enough to give privacy from the street below.
